Do I need an appointment to view a car?
No, you are welcome to just turn up during opening hours (Mon-Sat 9:00-18:00). That said, calling ahead is worth it — we can have the car you are interested in out front, unlocked and with a charged battery rather than parked in behind three others.
Can I take a car out on a test drive?
Yes. Bring your full UK driving licence and we will sort insurance for the drive. We would encourage you to take a proper route rather than a lap of the block — some town traffic and a stretch of the M65 will tell you far more about whether a car suits you.
Are your cars HPI-checked?
Every car is HPI-checked before it goes on sale — confirming it is clear of outstanding finance, not recorded as stolen, and not a recorded insurance write-off. We will show you the check on request.
Do the cars come with an MOT?
Cars are sold with a fresh MOT where the existing certificate is short. The remaining MOT and any advisories are something we will tell you about up front, before you decide.
What about a warranty?
Warranty cover varies by car — it depends on the age, mileage and price. Ask us what is included on the specific car you are looking at and we will tell you exactly what you get, and what it would cost to extend it. We would rather be precise about the actual car than make a blanket promise here.
What are my rights if something goes wrong?
Buying from a trader, you are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The car must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a fault that was present at the point of sale appears within the first 30 days, you have the short-term right to reject the car for a refund. Between 30 days and six months, we get one opportunity to repair or replace before a refund applies. None of that is affected by any warranty — it sits on top of it. In practice, ring us first: most things are sorted quickly and without any of this coming into it.
Can I reserve a car?
Yes. A reservation takes the car off sale so nobody else can buy it while you arrange the rest. You can reserve online on the car's own page, or over the phone.
How much deposit do I need?
For an outright purchase, whatever we agree to hold the car. For finance, a larger deposit lowers your monthly payment and usually the total cost — a part-exchange can serve as all or part of it. See our finance page for how it works.
Do you take part-exchange?
Yes, and it is free to have your car valued with no obligation. Bring it along when you come to view and we will value it while you look round — see part-exchange for what to bring.
Do you offer finance?
Yes, finance is available subject to status and affordability checks. The finance page explains the process, what affects your rate and what documents you will need.
How do I pay for the car?
Bank transfer is the simplest and what most people use. We can also take card payments, and finance is paid out directly by the lender. We do not encourage large cash payments.
Can you deliver the car?
We can usually arrange local delivery across Pendle, Burnley and East Lancashire — ask us and we will let you know the cost for your postcode. Most buyers collect from us in Nelson.
Do you sell cars to buyers outside Lancashire?
Regularly. If you are travelling any distance, ring first — we will go through the car honestly over the phone and send extra photos or a video, so you are not making a wasted trip.
Can you source a car that is not in stock?
Often, yes. Tell us what you are after and your budget, and we will keep an eye out. Because we are small we can be picky on your behalf rather than pushing you towards whatever happens to be on the forecourt.
