We buy outright
You do not have to be buying a car from us. If you simply want rid of a car without the hassle of selling it privately, bring it down and we will make you an offer.
How it works
- Get in touch with the registration, mileage and a rough description — message us or call 07946 052784. Photos help.
- We give you a guide figure so you know whether it is worth your time coming down.
- Bring the car in for a proper look — we confirm condition, history and mileage.
- We make a firm offer. If you accept, we do the paperwork there and then.
- You get paid by bank transfer and we notify the DVLA of the change of keeper.
What to bring
- The V5C logbook — we cannot complete a purchase without it.
- Photo ID and proof of address, so we can confirm you are the registered keeper.
- Service history, receipts and the MOT certificate.
- Both keys, if you have them.
- A finance settlement figure if there is money still owing on the car.
What we are usually looking for
We are a small forecourt, so we buy selectively — generally tidy, sensible cars that suit local buyers: small hatchbacks, family cars, economical diesels and practical small vans, with reasonable mileage and some history behind them.
That said, it costs nothing to ask. If a car is not right for our forecourt we will tell you straight away rather than waste your afternoon, and we can often point you somewhere more suitable.
Cars still on finance
Not a problem. Get a settlement figure from your lender first. If the car is worth more than the settlement, you keep the difference; if it is worth less, the shortfall needs covering before the car can change hands. We settle the outstanding agreement with the lender directly.
Private sale versus selling to us
Selling privately will usually get you a bit more money. Selling to us gets you a firm figure, payment the same day, the paperwork done properly, and no strangers coming to your house for test drives. Which of those matters more is entirely your call, and we are not going to pretend the money is identical.
Thinking of changing rather than just selling?
If you might buy something from us as well, look at part-exchange instead — and have a look at what we currently have in stock while you are here.
